With the QuoteWerks real-time integration to Dexxxon product pricing and availability, Dexxxon VARS can now search for and include Dexxxon products in their quote, and update these items with current pricing and availability – all from within QuoteWerks. Without this integration, Dexxxon VARs would need to perform multiple queries on the Dexxxon website finding products and pricing, and then would need to manually copy the part number, description, and pricing into the quote for each item.

The VAR will continue to benefit from QuoteWerks and the integration with Dexxxon even after the initial quote has been submitted to the customer.

Often, a customer calls with an older quote, asking for updates and changes. With this real-time integration, QuoteWerks users just use the “Refresh with Latest Prices” option and all of the prices in the quote are updated with the Dexxxon VAR’s current pricing. This saves the VAR a tremendous amount of time. Often the VAR’s cost of various products has changed since the last time pricing was checked. To address these changes, the QuoteWerks “Item Cost Change” wizard assists the VAR in deciding how to apply a cost change to the product’s price. For example, if the VAR’s cost goes down, using the wizard, the VAR can easily determine the best way to apply the cost change with a simple click. There is an option to keep the customer price the same or pass the savings on to the customer – lowering the customer price. There is also an option to split the savings between the VAR and the customer.

In build 49 QuoteWerks added a new feature for Canadian users.  Document level GST tax rate is now supported for all users who upgrade to build 49 and higher.  This feature was added because the Canadian government has started changing the GST tax rate; this will make it easier for users to update quotes with accurate taxes.

Users can run a SQL query to update all of their previous documents in QuoteWerks that had the older GST tax rate.    “UPDATE DocumentHeaders SET GSTTaxRate=0.05 WHERE LastModified < #01/01/2008#”, and for a MSSQL backend the SQL command would like similiar to “UPDATE DocumentHeaders SET GSTTaxRate=0.05 WHERE LastModified < ‘01/01/2008′”. After you run the SQL update query, run the Utilities|Rebuild CM Transport files to update all the DTF files with the new field and data.

The GSTTaxRate field is also available as a DataLink field.  This will allow QuoteWerks to pull in the tax from customers automatically when retrieving customer contact information.

New, in build 49 of QuoteWerks, is the ability to set default literature when creating a new Quote, Order, and/or Invoice.  Users can specify which literature should be included each time that document is emailed or printed.  This ensures users never forget to add Terms and Conditions, pricing considerations, payment options, etc when sending their documents to the customers.

Additionally, users can select multiple documents to be included or select just one.  Also, QuoteWerks can specify an entire folder’s contents to be included in the quote as well.

The default settings for the literature can be found in the Tools | Options menu under the documents tab.

QuoteWerks has just announced the release of Build 50 for QuoteWerks 4.0.  The new release includes an improved PDF generator that adds some functionality to the previous generator.

The new PDF generator does not require a printer driver to be installed.  This enables users on both 32 and 64 bit OS’s to create PDF’s without having to install any drivers eliminating any problems with user rights and access.

Additionally, the new PDF generator has a few more options that can be enabled.  First users can choose to have links displayed in the PDF as underlined and in color instead of appearing as normal text.  Users can also choose to have the PDF’s read only and not allow the copying of any information from the PDF.  These features add another layer of security and make editing the document even more difficult.

QuoteWerks offers numerous features for organizations to streamline the quote creation process.  One of the most important features businesses can utilize is the ability to standardize the quoting process across the entire organization.

Users access a single directory which links to or contains all the product databases, layouts, documents, and settings for QuoteWerks.  When a sales rep logs into QuoteWerks, only the company sanctioned product databases and pricing will be shown (per security settings), ensuring the user has accurate pricing and products.

Most companies employ an accounting program in their organization to record orders and invoices among other tasks.  Too many times, users start to clutter their accounting system with quotes and other documents that never materialize and end up filling the accounting package with unwanted or needed documents.

QuoteWerks enables users to integrate directly with QuickBooks or Peachtree using an interactive direct link.  The link provides businesses a way to export estimates, orders, and invoices over to the accounting program quickly, accurately, and easily.  Users can choose which documents to export and which ones not to move over.

The interactive link between QuickBooks and Peachtree is available in the Professional and Corporate editions of QuoteWerks for all users.  It will export documents to QuickBooks or Peachtree and allow users to choose the tax rate for all documents or individual documents.  Furthermore, QuoteWerks also has an open export module which may allow the exporting of documents to different accounting systems as long as they can import XML or text delimited files.

QuoteWerks also enables users to search contacts in the two different accounting systems and pull customer contact information into the quote.   Additionally, users are able to search the QuickBooks and Peachtree item lists and add those items to their QuoteWerks document.  If a document is then exported, QuoteWerks will prompt the user to create the items if they are not found in the QuickBooks or Peachtree database.

Moreover, QuoteWerks has many outside developers who have created and maintain add-on links to other accounting systems that are not included in the QuoteWerks package.  The integrations include Mas 90 & 200, Great Plains, and more.  Users are free to contact the developers for information on how to obtain those integrations.

A mobile sales force enables organizations to sell on the road and be able to meet with clients face to face rather than over the phone.  Many businesses rely on their remote sales force to drive the sales for the company which results in many sales reps needing a quoting or estimating application on their laptop.
